The latest tournament concept from GolfStyles is the new Lincoln Challenge. Similar to the popular Lincoln Player's Series, the Lincoln Challenge has a much shorter season, but beefed up prizes — a minimum of $1,500 at each event. In all, 12 players will earn berths in the annual GolfStyles Florida Invitational which will be held this year at Innisbrook Resort in Tampa, Florida.
Just three events will comprise the Lincoln Challenge schedule for 2008. Net and gross winners of eachLincoln MKX event will earn berths in the Invitational as will the top two net and gross point earners (excluding event winners). Two of your best three finishes will determine point standings.
And two additional players will gain entry to the Invitational via a random selection from the pool of golfers who play in at least two of the three Challenge events.
Here's one additional kicker. Even if you play poorly in the Lincoln Challenge, you can still receive a berth in the Florida Invitational as the first eight Lincoln Challenge players to purchase or lease a new Lincoln from a Washington, D.C., area dealer by September 3, 2008, will earn entry into the year-end tournament at Innisbrook.
Registration couldn't be easier and the entry fees are simple and straightforward - $30 for each event. You pay green fees at the course. Although you'll still need to complete an application, this year you can register for your events online.
